These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Monte app and related services ("Monte"). By creating an account or using Monte, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Monte.
Monte is intended for parents and guardians, who must be at least 18 years old, to set up and manage on behalf of their family. You are responsible for the child profiles you create and for supervising your children's use of the app.
You sign in using Sign in with Apple, Google, or email. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and any parent passcode confidential and for all activity under your account.
Children earn an in-app currency ("Gems") by completing chores and reading, subject to parent approval. Gems can be spent on earned screen time that a parent has configured. Gems are an in-app unit for motivation and learning only. They have no cash value, are not real money, and cannot be redeemed for cash, transferred, or exchanged outside the app.
Monte uses Apple's Screen Time API to grant and restrict access to apps that a parent selects. Enforcement depends on Apple's frameworks and device settings. Monte makes reasonable efforts to enforce earned time accurately but does not guarantee that every restriction will be effective in all circumstances, including if a child force-quits the app or changes device settings. Monte is a tool to support your parenting, not a substitute for it.
Physical wishlist rewards may link to third-party retailers such as Amazon. Some links are affiliate links, and Monte may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Monte does not sell physical products and is not responsible for third-party purchases, pricing, fulfillment, or the content of third-party sites. Any purchase you make is solely between you and that retailer.
Monte may offer a paid family subscription. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store account, renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed or canceled in your App Store account settings. Prices are shown in the app before purchase.
You agree not to misuse Monte, including by attempting to access another family's data, reverse engineering the app, interfering with its operation, or using it for any unlawful purpose.
Your use of Monte is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect and how we handle it.
Monte is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that Monte will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that screen time enforcement will be perfectly accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Monte and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Monte.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. Continued use of Monte after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
